We have a number of paid ministry staff, who have responsibility for leading specific ministry areas.
I joined the church in April 2011, when I was employed part time as Worship Co-ordinator. Since then, I've played a number of roles and am now one of the Assistant Pastors. In my spare time, I enjoy playing, writing and recording songs as well as spending time with family and friends.
I joined the team as assistant pastor at Salford Elim in September 2024. Before this, I was a trainee minister in King’s Church Warrington, which is also an Elim church. During my days as a teacher in high schools, I was very aware that God was calling me to serve his church. I did this in the classroom, staff room and my home, seeing God do above and beyond what I could imagine. Now that I reflect God’s calling on my life in this role, I seek to live out the Mission of God by equipping and releasing people to be disciples of Jesus who make disciples. My husband and I are passionate about worship in many contexts, in our family home, and in gathered church spaces. We have three children who are learning more about their faith which in turn is teaching us what it means to be a church family.
As the Next Generation Pastor, I get to work with our amazing 0-25s, helping them grow in faith and discover how exciting life with Jesus can be. I love creating fun, welcoming spaces where young people feel valued, can ask questions, and see God at work in their lives. Our young adults and students are a big part of that too, building community, exploring faith, and supporting each other through the ups and downs of life.
You'll either know me here as the bloke who answers baffling Bible questions, or the bloke who does the buildings! I run various courses mid-week while keeping our buildings fit and equipped for all the ministries they're used for. I am married to Kate and we have two children. Outside of church, I am a trustee of a UK-based Bible College, Kings' Evangelical Divinity School (https://kingsdivinity.org/dr-charles-blundell/), where I teach NT greek. Before all this, I was a biochemist working in the pharmaceutical sector, inventing technologies to support the discovery of new medicines.
