Here’s a quick look back at last month, as well as a look forward to what’s coming up.
Over the past few years we have heard stories of young people coming to faith, large gatherings of young adults praying together, public figures coming to Christ and speaking positively of Christianity, and journalists writing about their own journeys of faith.
Why Tom Holland Changed His Mind About Christ
Could I Become A Christian In A Year?
But it has all been a bit random, fragments of good stories, but nothing concrete. Well, that might have changed. Just before Easter, a major piece of research, A Quiet Revival, by the Bible Society was published. You can read it here.
This month I thought I’d make a short film (10 mins) reflecting on what all this might mean. I hope you find it encouraging as well as a little bit challenging! Aslan is on the move. Watch the film below:

Church Day Away
Saturday 21st June | 10:00am-6:30pm | Barnston, Wirral, CH61 1BX
We have now been to Barnstondale on the Wirral a couple of times for our yearly away day. It was such a success we thought we do it all again but with a few tweaks after listening to your feedback.
For those of you who haven’t been it’s based at an activity centre. We take time to worship together, talk together, play games together, walk together, do various crafts together, and chill together. We have times all together, and times when the kids and young people do their own stuff.
In case you want to have a look at the centre in more detail take a look at their website.
What is Staying the Same
Cost – £20 for adults and £10 for children 3-18.
You will need to bring a packed lunch but evening meal is provided.
We can arrange lifts if needed – please try and sort this out yourself but if you’re struggling talk to Kate Blundell.
Possible need for stout (!) shoes if you plan on walking in the woods. Kids may need a change of clothes if they are likely to get wet/dirty!
What has Changed This Year?
The time of year we hope it will be warmer in June.
We will be running our own kids activities for up to age 16 including a crèche.
For the evening meal we will be getting outside caterers in who will bring a fish and chip van with a variety of options (not all fish related) including gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options.
We will finish the day a bit earlier this year at 6.30pm.
For more information or to let me know you want to come please speak to Kate Blundell on Sunday or or send her a message 07805 069033.
The deadline for letting her know you’re coming is Sunday 8th June 2pm.

New Sermon Series – Jonah
In May and June we will be reading and reflecting on the story of Jonah. There’s a lot more to this story than a fish! Though the fish is quite remarkable!!
These are some books that you might enjoy reading alongside the series:
Jonah for Normal People: A Guide to the Most Misunderstood Prophet of the Bible (The Bible for Normal People) by Jared Byas.
The Prodigal Prophet: Jonah and the Mystery of God’s Mercy by Tim Keller.
The Message of Jonah (The Bible Speaks Today Old Testament) by Rosemary Nixon
If you prefer to read paper copies of books, we recommend ordering them through Jo Wozencroft at Urmston Books. You can order them on the website.
