Happy New Year!
Another new year begins. As they say, time flies. But it’s good to know that the Author of the Story holds us and will be with us in every chapter through the next 12 months.
Staying Connected
We want to try a new way of connecting with you – keeping you up to date with what is happening and also giving a space where we can notify you of any significant prayer requests we have received. We suspect that email isn’t the best way for that to happen.
So what we propose doing is:
1. We will put all the news on the church website as usual and we will keep the calendar up to date.
2. We will experiment with a WhatsApp group. This is NOT a group where you will be able to comment or receive other people’s comments. It will just bring you the Church News and Prayer Requests. We will create this group from the mobile numbers on Church Suite. So if you want to check that the number is correct, please download the app Church Suite and then put the church name in, followed by your login details: your email and a password. That should take you to the page that has your details and also the events that are coming up.
We will begin setting this WhatsApp channel up during the month. Please accept any invitations to join it.

Housegroup
Beginning W/C 5th January | 7:30pm | Various locations
Housegroups will begin meeting again on Tuesday 6th, Thursday 8th (in person and online) or Friday 7th January (afternoon). They continue on the 2nd and 4th week of each month.
New to Church?
Sunday 25th January | 1:30pm – 2:30pm | Church
If you are new to church then we would like to invite you to stay for lunch with us on Sunday 25th January after the service. We will meet in the Small Room in the Hall. It’s from 1:30-2:30pm. It’s a chance for us to meet you properly and for you to hear a little more about our church. We would love you to come. Please sign up in church on via Church Suite.
Mini Church
Sunday 18th January | 9:30am – 10:30am | The Vine
Mini Church is a short monthly service that is perfect if you have toddlers. It’s from 9:30-10:30 on the third Sunday of each month in The Vine. The first of the year will be on 18th January. If you fall into this stage of life or know of others who do, and would like a relaxed service that they can share with their toddlers, please do let them know.
NEW GROUP – Art With Ellie
Beginning Tuesday 6th January | 2:30pm – 4:30pm | The Vine
Free art lessons with local teacher Ellie. Connect with creative individuals, lower stress, boost happiness and meet others who share your passion for art. Tuesdays in the Vine, 2:30pm – 4:30pm, starting 6th January. (Right after Crafty Crew).

Giving
Thanks to everyone who gives so faithfully – through Givit, Standing Orders or in cash. We really appreciate it. However you give, if you pay tax (and most of us do these days – even those of you receiving pensions) we can reclaim that tax for the church through Gift Aid. You don’t pay anymore but we receive 25% more. If you haven’t already signed up for this, please take a sheet from the Information stand, fill it out and give it us back. If you want to chat about it, see Jo Parkinson (our Finance Officer) or one of the pastors.
