This is part of a series of books entitled Discipleship as Wholeness. It is one of the few books I’ve read that not only intends to encourage people to become mature disciples of Christ, but also suggests a picture of what that might actually look like in the lives of ordinary Christians. The book wants to take seriously the thought that becoming a mature disciple of Christ will mean that individuals will grow into wholeness. As such it reflects on the relationship between Biblical teaching and psychological understanding. Holmes and Williams are part of a church leadership team in Kent and as such the book reflects the issues that are faced by most of us in church life.
