As well as the news featured in our newsletter, there are a couple of extra things which we need to tell you about.
The Boaz Trust
Would you like to be involved in a ministry The Boaz Trust have been undertaking, which is due to start again in November?
The Boaz Trust provide a weekly night shelter for the homeless and destitute, and throughout the harshest six months of the year Mount Chapel is opened up, one night each week, as a place of refuge to give those who have nothing a place to sleep and some decent food to eat. Other churches do the same on alternative nights to provide accommodation for seven nights a week. Those involved have learnt much about the servant heart of Jesus, and have had many opportunities to share His love and truth whilst serving those in need.
They really need male volunteers who could commit to sleeping over at least once a month, helping out by serving food, making beds and generally making the guys feel welcome. They also need female volunteers who could help welcome, prepare and serve food, but without sleeping over.
If you’d like to know a bit more, Ian Peacock will be giving a presentation at Mount Chapel about how it went last year over a meal, where there will be opportunities to ask any questions people may have. This is taking place on Sunday 10th October at about 1:30pm.
If you’d like to get involved in this, or if you’d like to attend Ian’s presentation (so they can make sure there’s enough food!), please send us a message.
North Korea & Beyond
On Saturday 9th October, North Korea & Beyond will be holding an awareness conference. This will run from 10am-3pm, and is being hosted by Elmwood Church. If you’d like to go to this, send us a message.
